Preventable injuries are the number one killer of children under 18, in Israel. Each year, approximately 180,000 injured children are admitted to hospital emergency wards across the country. Of those, some 25,000 require hospitalization and close to 150 lose their lives. Most of these injuries are due to falls, burns, drowning, poisoning, choking, car accidents, and other "every-day" causes. Ninety-five percent of these accidents are preventable.
Our mission is to create a safe world for children by promoting a sound environment and society for children of all socio-economic, ethnic, religious and gender backgrounds throughout Israel. A nonprofit organization founded in 1995 at the Schneider Children's Medical Center, we are the only Israeli organization dealing exclusively with child safety.
At the core of our activities are key prevention strategies: Education & Empowerment, Engineering & Environmental modifications, Evidence-based Interventions & Evaluation, Enactment, Enforcement and Exposure and resource development.
